Does anyone have a set of these Sunoco arrows. I'm looking to repop a set to go with my sign. (clearly and permanently labeled reproduction!). I'm hoping someone can supply me with measurements.

Steve, I'm gone for a week but if no one gets these measurements to you I will. I have a rough set that, I too was going to make two sets for myself. You probably know way more than I do regarding sunoco but you see the sign in your picture has a bolt on the inward edge of the arrows your sign has no hole. On my sign there is staining where it appears the arrows were on the outside of the sign. My arrows do not conform to the edge of the sign but are wider reaching all the way to the bolt i mentioned. I'm not sure how or why or when the change from outside to the underside of the sign happened. Perhaps you do. John

John, Looking now, i probably didn't use the best photo given the holes as you've asked about. Sunoco opened it's first station in 1920. Here are 2 photo's of signs with no arrow at all. I would imagine, given the old Sun Oils signage, pre service stations, had no arrow, that the first stations likely had no arrow.

Here's an early arrowed sign that I believe the arrows are flanged and bolted to the metal between the signs. As for when the arrows started extending over the sign and the other holes added, I'm not sure.

Not to hijack Steve's thread, but I am also looking for a Sunoco arrow. I just need the base of the arrow with the white border. If anyone has one, please let me know.
