Thanks for the add to the site. I am dismantling a G&B visible. All went well til I tried to get the pump arm off. Removed the bolt on the end but the arm will not budge. There is a pin to stop arm from rotating on the shaft, but arm is slotted so figure it should slide off shaft with a little persuasion. Am I just not doing something right. Tried penetrating fluid and small propane torch and hammer and nothing. Thanks in advance. First pump I have attempted.
The best way I've found for removing rusted, seized, nuts, bolts, handles etc is to heat it up, glowing red hot. I doubt a small propane torch is hot enough. Red hot will break the bond formed by years of corrosion and rust. Try and heat just the nut, or in this case, the handle.
