According to my Blue Book, the SN range for Gilbarco model 996 is from 29713 to 46404 in 1950, so if the production was consistent for the entire year, I am guessing April or May 1950.

Thank you very much... is there a way find the gas station it was used at and a photo of that station?

Chevron had a long relationship with G&B, so with the colors & decal, it is possible that it was indeed a Chevron pump. If that is original paint and decal, it is not a California pump, because there is not a "Tax" decal on it.

It was a Chevron pump.. unfortunately there wasnt much left of the original paint except for the chevron logo area and a few tiny slivers of green, red, and blue.. it had been painted over a bunch of times before i painted it... i believe original it was a Chevron Supreme pump due to the real tiny bit of green paint, then eventually was turned into a Chevron regular pump...
