Getting to the stages of prep and paint work on a 600 going back together.
Would like some thoughts on anyone that has seen original red paint on a 600 pump.

Mine had many layers of various colors and can't get good visual of the original first layer of red paint
Some original print ad's show the Rapidayton logo having more of an orange background while the pump itself within the print ad looks more Red.
Light Red
Darker Red
Red/Orange
Any thoughts?

Please don't reply back with paint it whatever color you want, its your pump..
Rather have a closer representation to the original color.

Any positive feedback would be wonderful.

I've done a pump or two and have the best results using a dark red for early 1900's thru the 20's visibles as well. Using comparisons of original paint on the units coming through here....it appears that dark red was the go to in most cases. Paul www.severngaspumps.com

Fantastic. Thank you very much. This will help me narrow things down.

My original 600 sales brochure just states the new pump will be painted red, but from the original color pictures I have it appears to be a dark red.
