I have been into muscle cars for 10 yrs but main hobby is shooting sporting clays. Recently purchased my first gas pump at an estate sale. Owner had gas stations in the 50s, 60s. The pump is an American 2487 V- Visible Pump, 10 gallon- 12-10 Whirlwind. Hand operated, wet hose. The cylinder is glass with some cracks but appears to be overall in good condition. The gallon markers are very legible. The globe is plastic not real and reads Golden West. The pump is yellow with the base in red. It has been sitting outside so there are rusted out holes in the base but are fixable. Not sure if I want to leave the patina on it or restore it to it's glory days. Right now I am looking for a catalogue on the pump that would list the parts so I can determine what I am missing besides a hose. Picked on some oil cans and some other petro related items. I like the 1 & 5 gallon oil cans. Some of them have neat graphics. Looking forward to learning more about originality of pumps, and signage.
