Hi, I think Im the newest guy as of right now so please forgive my etiquette! Was just wondering, I saw a guy had a 1940s poster for Artex Anti Freeze, does anybody know, did Artex make anti Freeze? I've only been doing this for about 6 years but I've never seen an Artex Anti Freeze can. thanks

Hello, Joseph, and welcome aboard Old Gas. Since Artex marketed motor oil, I believe it's logical to conclude they also could have packaged antifreeze for sale to the consumer. John

Artex was the bulk grade motor oil brand for American Oil (Amoco). Amoco typically marketed anti freeze under the Amoco name, or Amo Zero. Artex was only bulk grade motor oil, in 2 gallon and 5 gallon cans. You'll need to show us a photo, but your can is most likely unrelated to Amoco and its Artex.
Good oil cans don't wait for people, people wait for them.

I don't have a can, I just saw an old e-bay listing for a "...1940s artex anti rust anti freeze" small poster and I think it said 20 cents. I'll have to google it. I was just wondering if Artex even made anti freeze. I've seen plenty of the oil cans even in my short time in the hobby, but never an anti freeze can.
