On to of the manifold there is about a 1/8" tube going to a fitting that has a very small orifice and also a fitting with a shrader valve in it. What is the purpose of this?

I'm only guessing but since it's at the top of the pump and a Schrader valve the only logical purpose would be to bleed the air out of the system.
