Can I use water in an old gas pump to demonstrate it working. I would like to have one set up in man cave so I could show it off anytime.

I would think gas has some type of rust preventer,don't you think? Say its doable what holds water and where does it go? Lots to figure out. Welcome to OLDGAS.

I think you'd need something with some lubricating properties. They make coolant for race cars that's not too oily and I think it comes in some pretty neat colors.

Note: It's not vehicle antifreeze, it's RV antifreeze for water lines. Non-toxic and used to keep your water lines from freezing (including the ones you drink from).

DO NOT use water, it will rust up.
