What's the best way to clean the black stuff off of glass globe bodies? Thanks...


Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

I use steel wool and soft scrub.

Brillo pad works too. I try and leave it on them though. It gives them character.

I use Mothers Metal Polish, but it takes a while to get that black stain off. It will remove it though!

I first used an SOS pad to get the heavy stuff. Next, I used a headlight restore kit to get the black stain off. Worked well.

All above works also sometimes really rough areas I use rubbing compound with a touch of water whatever used you cannot hurt the glass. Usually around the bases it's really black this works well there. Steel wool as mentioned above with compound is good too. Scott B.
