Since the 'Its a Gas' show will be at the Four Seasons... does anyone know what setup will be like? Will there be a room-room trading time since its at a hotel now?

Trying to decide whether to stay at the actual hotel or a friends lake house.
Posted By: Rabbitman Re: It's a Gas - Ozarks - Tue Nov 25 2014 06:09 PM
The way I read it, everything will be in the convention hall. I predict that it will be a real bear on Friday trying to unload all the vendors and getting set up. It used to take well in to the afternoon on Friday to get everyone unloaded when you could drive in and unload close to your space. With all the vendors having to unload through two doors with dollies and two wheelers it will take a lot longer. Pray for good weather or double the trouble unloading and be ready for a lot of people in a bad mood! Glad I don't have a booth......If you have to get a room somewhere anyway I would just get one there. The rate was reasonable at $98 a night and you'll be right there regardless. If you got a friends place to stay and save the room $, that would be nice as it can't be too far from the show anyway.......GB

Set up time will be 8:00 a.m., a couple of hours earlier than before.

I'm taking the Arizona Option. I'll be thinking of you guys while I'm wearing my shorts.
Posted By: tomzcollectiblez Re: It's a Gas - Ozarks - Fri Dec 05 2014 12:47 PM
I got my spots smile
Seems they would have mentioned room to room on the flyer?
So I seriously doubt it...
As for set up, it's the first time at this new place so you will have to ask the show promoters about how they plan to do it...
I, for one, LOST the best spots in the house with this move so I hope it works out well....
Everything will need to be carried or carted in...so dont forget your dollies and carts...
See you there smile

Tom,
They are not doing room to room... they don't want room to room set up!

I'll be there. Anyone who needs something from Oklahoma let me know and we'll work something out. If you have someone in Texas who has something see if they can get it to me and I will bring it also.

Just let me know. Travis.

I've been reading the reviews online of the accommodations at the Lodge, and they are not very good. I thought about bringing the family, but now I don't know. I hate walking into something blind. I know the priority is the show, but I want to have a good experience with the room. Thinking I might want to stay somewhere else.Pat.
Posted By: Rabbitman Re: It's a Gas - Ozarks - Mon Dec 15 2014 02:08 PM
Pat, I haven't stayed there in years but it was always a nice place. If the reviews are less than stellar I would imagine that its due to the age of the hotel, especially if it hasn't been updated on a regular basis. Some of those landmark hotels seem to lag behind in renovations and I'm not sure why unless the are trying to keep the charm of the original draw. I can't imagine it would be a dive, even now, but you never know I guess.....GB

anyone know the closest airport to fly in
Posted By: s932 Re: It's a Gas - Ozarks - Wed Jan 07 2015 10:15 AM
Marky the major airports would be St. Louis or KC and then you would have to drive a couple hours. I also think you can fly from St. Louis to lake of the ozarks on a smaller plane.
Posted By: s932 Re: It's a Gas - Ozarks - Wed Jan 07 2015 10:18 AM
You could also check if there is flights into Jefferson City, mo
Posted By: 57CameoGuy Re: It's a Gas - Ozarks - Wed Jan 07 2015 11:09 AM
U might check Branson, mo as well for flights.

Posted By: Coops 427 Re: It's a Gas - Ozarks - Wed Jan 07 2015 10:42 PM
This is from the website:

"Vendor set up is Friday, January 16th, 2015 starting at 8:00am. We also offer an Early Bird buyer's pass for the serious collector. $35 for an armband that allows you entry on both days. You will be able to come in with the vendors (8:00 am) and shop all day on Friday & Saturday until close of the event on Saturday (usually around 1:00pm.)"

I will be there Thursday evening.

whats the closest airport to the show? I have a buddy that wants to ride along, but can't stay as long as I plan on staying.
Posted By: Rabbitman Re: It's a Gas - Ozarks - Thu Jan 08 2015 02:13 AM
They were talkin about the airports in a few previous posts in this thread but nobody mentioned Springfield which would really be closer than any previously mentioned airport. There are more options in and out of Springfield than Branson and it would be a closer drive than Branson and a lot closer than KC or St. Louis.........GB

Anyone from Colorado with a trailer attending?

Columbia/Jefferson City regional is another option
Posted By: Rabbitman Re: It's a Gas - Ozarks - Thu Jan 08 2015 12:57 PM
I didn't think about Columbia or Jefferson City. That would be the closest but I'm not sure what service they have now. Be worth checking on.

Be there Thursday with a case of beer. Hope to meet a lot of you!
Posted By: Rabbitman Re: It's a Gas - Ozarks - Sat Jan 10 2015 12:39 AM
Gotta do a picture! I think we did it on Friday around noon last year. Has somebody got the computer skills to number the people in the pic so we can identify everyone the way DB used to do? I'm not sure what he used to do that. I think Jim took it last year, so if he wants to do it, he can set the time that works for him....GB
Posted By: 47reo-travis Re: It's a Gas - Ozarks - Sat Jan 10 2015 07:31 AM
Gary , last year I spoke to DB late that friday night after I got back from the show , telling him who all was there etc, and that we took a group photo .The best I can remember , he made some sarcastic comment about ( that poor camera ). Lol only DB! See you all at picture time.
Posted By: marky Re: It's a Gas - Ozarks - Sat Jan 10 2015 04:20 PM
are people gonna post some items there are bringing or should we start another thread
Posted By: BryceG Re: It's a Gas - Ozarks - Sat Jan 10 2015 06:35 PM
yes, we should do a picture, maybe Friday afternoon?

id say start another thread for pictures.

no one drink any beer that Vondy is offering... trust me.

I'm planning on being there on Friday. Doing a group photo at Noon sounds good to me.

Anybody bringing anything Zephyr or vintage auto paint related?
Posted By: Rabbitman Re: It's a Gas - Ozarks - Wed Jan 14 2015 03:36 AM
Noon is ok with me. Since we haven't been there before I guess we will have to find a place that day and announce it? Unless somebody knows the layout now and can specify a place.....GB

Check out the eye candy at about mile marker 204 on I-44 west of St Louis in Missouri, left side of the road. Looks like the collection grew a bunch since I went past it last. Think it was just west of Cuba MO.
