Hope everyone is well during these crazy times!
I picked this can up recently at a local auction. Was curious if anyone has an idea on what it may be worth? It appears original to me, but I am far from a can expert. It certainly shows the correct signs of age with extreme rust accumulation on bottom. It is 7-3/4" tall x 5" wide. A little on-line research indicates the word "motocycle" dates this can as pre 1929. Appreciate any input on this piece.

Thanks,
Clayton

I know my first thoughts are it's a modern copied/printed label of some sort glued on an old can. I certainly would've avoided it from what I see in the photos. What size measurement does it say above the Indian, ONE what?
I too will be interested to see what the group says!

IMO, Fake, several red flags. label is too small, no border on the bottom, peeling, why no other labels on sides, or remnants of them?

Should be easy to find a comparison, 1 that style sold in the past year

I think it says ONE U.S. QUART at top. I am tending to agree that its not authentic. I put it under a magnifier and I can see that the label has cut marks around it. What is baffling however, is that even under a magnifier the label appears to be very old.

Thanks for feedback. I was about to put this on eBay. Guess I will set it up on a shelf as a reminder that you have to pay "stupid tax" when you don't take time to fully vet a piece.

I was just curious as I wondered with the damage over that area if it was intentionally done as the artwork is taken from a one gallon can.....that would have been the most obvious tip it was fake.
These days it's easier than ever to pay stupid tax, but I guess we've all done it at some point in our collecting careers, at least most of us have.
