I think $ is flowing toward physical assets vs. an uncertain and unpredictable stock market. Collectable baseball card market (and others) experiencing some of the same craziness.

It doesn't make sense, just look at,

a few weeks ago,
Musgo $1.3 million

a couple days ago,
Musgo $350,000

I'd say one of them made a very bad investment

As far as comparing the two Musgo signs I think what makes a big difference is this last one to sell had a number of touch ups on it. If I remember right the first one was almost perfect, the best-known example. I guess if your rich and got to have the best you pay whatever it takes.

Regarding the 6" porcelain Shell sign that sold,it was described as a "delivery truck sign". I have had two of these signs in the past and i THOUGHT they were used on a Reps car door. I seem to remember seeing a picture of a vehicle with that sign on the door but can no longer find it.

Here is a picture of one that i had.

Thoughts?

When selling the best known condition piece, you can't price the market. I could easily sell 2 more in that condition for 7 figures if I had them. We had multiple bidders over 1m. The collectors for that condition don't want 2nd-3rd best.
