Was there a purpose for the small part that is attached with two slot head screws at the top of the upper side skin (side with nozzle holder). The part is just above the top brass screw on the upper skin.

Mount for a price sign???
I don't think it was original to the pump?
I've seen a lot of Wayne 60's and never say that. Definitely something somebody added.
Tom.
Such brackets held Pricer sign and/or advertising signs...
I've owned a couple Wayne 60s (a wide body and narrow) that had such a bracket on them... And both were 100% originals.... (but neither one had such a colorful light bulb)
If original why the HUGE screws, and dipping below the top profile?
If it was a bracket as suggested, looks like it was cut off then ground down, in stead of just taking out the 2 screws. IMO. Ed.
I said the ones on my pumps were original!!!
Damn, you do not read well. And for the record; I helped remove the pumps that I kept for 40 years; from a Wilshire Station that was being refurbished and rebranded in 1963...
Looks like a piece of T bar iron laying around the station. If it was from the factory they would have it plumb. not offset to the left.
Bob. with all due respect they could have be added. NO?
We all "read well" just giving our opinions. That's what this forum is about. You could be 100% correct. Google Wayne 60 there are a lot of images Not one I have seen with that add on.
Yikes! All of this over a freaking bracket? Must be Friday night.
It seems important to Model 72.
It is a vent but that one looks solid? Aftermarket one?
Thanks to all for the spirited discussion. Time to move on.
