That my friend is the crux of this issue. When Su-preme first appeared on signage(pps) it has always been accepted to be '59 However--if the plate that started this is in fact a "56 and authentic .....There are/have been many anomalies in this business of collecting. in over 50 yrs I have seen a few --also some parts of the US may have seen signs earlier than others --it happened - that I can attest to having been with the company for over 30 yrs I'd like to see a close up of the sign ----------

Do not have an answer-This whole discussion cannot be advanced with out a close-up pic of the sign I have suspicions, but I would not tell Kenr outright that it is a fake just yet It has been interesting none the less
I do not know a lot about Texaco.This sign was taken from a pump about 30 years ago as near as I remember.Not SUPREME but marked this way--lower left Made in USA-lower right--3-3-56. Always assumed it was THE REAL McCoy,input?
