Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a massive piece of authentic tire Petroliana that just went live on eBay yesterday. We are currently selling assets from the historic Dunlop Tire / Sumitomo Rubber facility in Tonawanda, New York, and the original main entrance building sign is up for auction.
This is a 100% authentic landmark factory sign. It was originally installed in 1997 during the Goodyear-Dunlop corporate joint venture and stood directly above the main office entrance doors until it was taken out of service around 2016.
Specs:
DUNLOP Letters: Spans approx. 25 feet wide when spaced. 3 feet high, 8-inch depth. Heavy aluminum return channels with yellow acrylic faces.
Flying D Logo: Standing approx. 7' x 7' x 7.5'.
Condition: Vintage industrial salvage. Has original wiring (untested/sold as-is), with some honest face cracking on the "U" and the arrow tip from removal/age, but retains incredible color and structural integrity.
Important Note: Because of the massive 25-foot scale, this auction is Local Pickup Only in Tonawanda, NY (Buffalo area). The buyer will need to bring an appropriate flatbed trailer or truck to haul it.
The auction is set for a 10-day run starting at a $600 minimum with no reserve.

Thanks for looking, and feel free to drop any questions here or through eBay!
