I was not complaining or whining , it is what it is. Ya, I bought a repop.
I thought admitting to a mistake and informing other people that it's a repop would be the definition of sucking it up but oh well you can't please em all and I don't care to when they are snide and uncivil to someone that was just asking a question.
JM2C
,,, and since my question has been answered, and my mistake can be researched and avoided by all that take the time to check it out, then that is all I have to say on this thread.
Thanx for sharing your knowledge, to those that did!

Based on your explanation above, I believe the proper word for the Mobil/No Smoking sign is better suited as FANTASY

Do your homework FIRST before you ask.
Simply learn how to use the search feature...It works great!
That will save you alot of headaches, and everyone else too for that matter...LOL

WOW!!!!!! One of our own looking for a little help, and he got this response? Must have got out of the bed on the wrong side or missed a dose of medications. LOL

Kind of what I thought myself, but oh well some folks feel they need to share there opinion in different ways, no loss of sleep here on my end.

I am always looking for anything Texaco or Oklahoma oil and gas company's, also I am a newbie at seeking globes.

I agree. I also have hard time searching for anything that I need specifically & get many un-related pages.

db,

What did you search for to get this link, please?

Fantasy or Fake, what's the difference, they both do more harm than good to the hobby.

I disagree with 100% on the FANTASY memorobilia ...

How could FANTASY memorobilia harm value of RARE signs & lenses?

Do you have any DATA to support your statement?

Having said that, why do RARE signs & lenses bring a lot of money at big auctions?

It's a Known Fact that UN-DATED FAKE/FANTASY/REPRO items [1, 10, 100 or 1,000+] are sucking in the UN-Educated w/ Over priced items that eventually the UN-Educated will find out that they bought SCRAP. Eventually all these new collectors that are getting Burnt will get discussed-ed & leave the hobby.

A commit that has been made here several times "I made/had it made for me & will never be sold, so no need to Date it".
What happens IF you die in an accident next week, your wife/heirs needs money to pay off medical bill incurred by Your Accident, she has to sell your collection.
New buyer/bidder can't find a Date on it & BELIEVES it's 1 OF A Kind/Survivor & bids to own it. Later finding out it is an UN-DATED FANTASY ITEM. Remember your wife/heirs needs what ever she/they can sell your collection for. But she/they is taken to court to Refund what Your UN-DATED FANTASY item sold for. NOW she/they also have to pay Court Cost.
Is this what you want to happen?

The only Reason Not to Date a newly made item is to Defraud now or at a later date, intentional or not.
