Hi guys. I have a 1923 Fry Model 117 gas pump I've started to a semi-restoration on. It belonged to my grandfather and then my dad kept it in our yard so it was always around when I was growing up. About 15 years ago I took it apart with the intention of restoring it but got discouraged and never finished. Now I've finally started on it again and my biggest problem is knowing how it all goes back together and what parts I need, especially the hardware.
Is there a detailed assembly diagram out there? What about close up pictures inside and out?

How far did you go with the disassembly ? There really isn't to much involved. Take some pictures of the project and post.

...Jason - find a copy of the book 'Guide to Gas Pump Restoration' - they did a step-by-step guide (with photos of the entire process) to restoring a Fry visible...pretty sure it was a 117...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Thanks guys. I'll get some pictures up. What section should I post the project in? And thanks for the book suggestion. I just ordered it. Should be here in about a week. By the way, I noticed almost everyone that replied to this thread is from the South. Is that just a coincidence?

Hi, I just saw your post and was wondering how your restoration is going. I live in North Alabama and obtained my first pump about a year ago. It also happens to be a FRY 117. The last patent date on the brass tag on mine is from 1923. The pump inside is marked 1924. It would be cool to see how similar they are to each other. I am about 70% complete on my restoration and have enjoyed every minute of it. Good luck!
