I like the for sale section. Everybody is different on how they try to sell something. Let the guy sell the item the way he wants. If you don't like it then just don't ask. Its really very simple.

I have worked with Ray a few times this past year, and he is an upstanding guy and more than fair to deal with. He's always shown high integrity in offers and great at following up. If Valley did not think the counter offer was fair, then a simple no thank you would have been fine. It's just common courtesy.

The Guidelines for the For Sale forum prohibit criticism of a seller's price in his For Sale topic. But if the seller does not state a price, then the door is open for discussion and offers.

Please keep the responses tactful.

I am surprised at the amount of comments made by people who weren't around for the phone conversation Ray and I had. Cubby, there was no "counter offer" he called and offered less than half of my asking price on my creed sign (the sign he supposedly offered $600 for). If that equates to a high amount of integrity, then obviously the community's moral values are dramatically declining.

I suggest welcoming newcomers instead of pushing them away if you want the hobby to live on past your lifetime. There is no need to blast people because you're dissatisfied with their price...reread the forum guidelines. I joined this site to learn and possibly sell a few of my items, enough of these childish antics.

Serious inquiries only, I will not respond to anymore dramaqueens or forum trolls.

Seems to me that a picker is all about finding, buying and selling. Taking nice care of potential customers is what a successful salesman does, especially when other potential customers are watching. Good luck with your own special way of doing things.

Valley: That is more than enough drama out of you. Selling on here is very simple. Take a picture of a sign, post it with the size and price, and negotiate from there. If you receive a phone call from someone about a sign, and the call does not go well, then don't post the drama novel on here for others to see.

It's common sense valley. And yes, newcomers are welcome on here. However, bashing veteran members that I and others have dealt with in the past and have a great working relationship is no way to make new friends. Especially when you are new and have no credibility built up.

Sounds pretty simple when using common sense and integrity. All other approaches must be just a "valley" thing......

When you go to the store to buy a qt of milk they don't ask you what you will give them- maybe it should be mandatory when selling to post a price..

Thanks for the great comments about me. As you all know I've been doing this sign thing for a long time like many of you. I've bought a lot and sold a lot, usuall for less then I paid but that's what I'm know for. I did offer $600 for the sign and apparently he misunderstood what I said. He told me "make an offer" I called about the Truck Door sign and when he said make an offer I jokenly said $200, laughed and said I was kidding. That's when he told me he wanted $1200-$1300. I did offer $600 on his Creed sign but not on this one. This sign, rear or not, is workth at tops, $600. Sorry for starting all this but just wanted to set the story straight
Happy Holidays to all of you out there and look forward to seeing you "along the way"
