Wondering what the value of a 59x42 standard oil oval flame sign is. See eBay auction 151468256427 "Vintage Standard Oil Porcelain double sided Sign". I have the original sign holder and 18 foot sign post. The are asking 2000 for sign and 750 for flame topper. I would like to know what these are selling for.

sounds like quite a bit to me, average standard sign should go between 800-1,100. the flame seems high , does your sign pole have the correct holder for this flame? because mine is a three piece and holds a plastic or a glass flame.

The sign holder that takes this sign does not use the three piece flame holder. This sign uses spacers to offset the flame from the sign. Pictures of my post with sign look to have two flames - one on each side.

I agree those prices are high...for signs in that condition. Their asking prices might be applicable for signs in mint or very near mint condition.

Looking at some old pictures the sign looks like it had two flames, one mounted on each side of the sign outside the frame.

Yes, those that used the flame signs used two signs. The majority that I've seen used a flame globe though.
