I can potentially get my hands on this rapidayton 1500 but I've been unable to determine a value for it. I don't run into much petroliana around here so I'm hoping to get it in order to trade/make money for something I'm more interested in it. Your thoughts? Thanks in advance!

I have restored at least ten of these pumps. They are really beautiful if you re-chrome all the bright metal pieces. The porcelain can be etched with a sandblaster and once the body work is done, finished in auto enamel. There is one on my home page done in Pure Firebird.....Killer pumps. That's a good lookin pump, I may just keep it for myself. What would be a fair price to pay for this pump in the current shape?

...I'd leave the porcelain alone - if the rest of the pump is as nice as the photo, it's in great condition - why blast and repaint?...MUCH easier to clean/polish the porcelain, check/fix the wiring, get a Sohio Extane globe (cheap enough), sit down and open a beer...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...
