I'm based in Leicester, England. I'm looking to begin restoring a few
early petrol pumps. I'd be interested in anything that would make a good
uncomplicated first project. My main interest lies in the early 1920's -
30's pumps but I'd be happy with something more modern. High shipping costs
make a purchase from the U.S. umpractical but I don't rule it out. I'm not

I am a avid diecast toy collector along with old car books of all kinds
( my collection goes back to the late 1930's). I am especially found of model
service stations and oil trucks , tow trucks and the like. I also have a
vast collection of vintage car, truck, boat motor, bus and motor cycle ads
which I pedal at swap meets in order to support my die cast habit. I am a
journeyman auto mechanic by trade having worked for 3 Esso stations and two
car dealerships when I was a kid. That was 30 years ago. I have been a Manager
with Motor Coach Industries, North America's largest Intercity Coach manufacturer
for the past 30 years. I am also a model builder and am researching old service
stations so that I can build a number of service station and car dealership
dilaramas in various scales for my diecast collection. Its a great hobby
and I enjoy it very much. I also own a restored 66 Sunbeam Alpine roadster
powered by a Merc Capri 2.6 litre V6 - poor man's Tiger ) for fun in the
sun !.

Imperial Oil stuff - Imperial was (and still is) a Canadian affiliate
of Standard Oil's. In business since 1880. Canada's largest oil company.
I collect Canadian Imperial Oil road maps (all provinces), oil cans, globes,
give-aways, signs, etc. Also Gilbert & Barker gas pumps (used exclusively
by Imperial Oil)
