Is a square and a rectangle the same? Those that know the difference, know that they are totally different. Those that don't, will and may conclude that they are the same.
Curved = A line that deviates from straightness in a smooth, continuous fashion. Outer edge (circumference) is uneven as one point is lower and two points are higher. Flat object with radius to it.
Convex = Outer edge (circumference) is even and the center is higher i.e. a spoon held up side down.
Concave = Outer edge (circumference) is even and the center is lower i.e. a spoon held right side up.
