What would a ballpark value be on this sign? I haven't seen alot of colonial esso signs lots of standard esso. not sure if the less common? colonial sign would be worth more or not? Sign is about 3' x 5' in original ring. both sides in about the same condition with this being the slightly better side. Not looking to sell it just want to know...

Thanks

Not true. In Canada Standard Oil signs are Imperial Oil or Esso.

Nice sign and right size.

The ring hanger and sign combo makes this a great piece. A few chips will hurt the value only a little.

Figure $700-1000 average because it's Colonial Esso Dealer. A plain Esso it would drop about $200. At auction it might bring more but you'd see about the same in your pocket after the auctioneers cut.

The last one this size in nice condition I got 700 in a quick sale without a ring.

Colonial is Colonial Beacon Oil of Massachusetts. Esso bought them out, and use the name on their signs in the northeast.

I saw a colonial dealer esso sign this past summer in Denton, NC at the Southeast Old Threshers reunion. It was faded really bad and was not nearly as nice as the one you have. Rare sign though. They were asking over 1000 for theirs. I wouldn't let it go for less than 1000. You have a great sign. I like it. Good stuff.
