I just bought my first banjo pole and sign to put outside my garage the sign is in really good shape other than 3 or 4 small chips but where the clips held it to the pole it has some rust I was wondering if there is anything I can do to help preserve the sign from the weather? Thanks in advance!

Keep it indoors.

Just kidding. You can always dab the chipped/rusty areas with Rust-Mort or a similar product. Rust-Mort will easily control oxidation or convert existing rust and corrosion to a surface suitable for refinishing. Then if you like you can cover the treated areas with corresponding colored paint (Tremclad).
