In the fall of 1945, Standard of California adopted the "Chevron Gas Station" brand for their dealer operated sites in states in the far west where they had the rights to the Standard name. Company stations remained as "Standard Stations, Inc." All stations in their Rocky Mountain marketing that had operated under the Calso brand since 1932 were branded Chevron Gas Station at the same time (has nothing to do with use of the Calso name in the northeast which began about the time it was phased out in the Rockies). Phase out of the Chevron Gas Station name, in favor of just simply Chevron began about 1955 and was complete by 1958. The Atlas Tires sign was a strip sign mounted above the service bay doors at a Chevron station in this era. The dealer's name and other terms (Washing, Lubrication, etc.) appeared on similar panels, depending on the configuration of the station.
