I'm wondering if anyone would have a picture of this sign up at a gas station. My dad has one but we don't know exactly what to put it on. Is it supposed to be on a stand or cemented in the ground?

It would go on a moveable base, so the sign could be set out wherever or whenever the station operator wanted.
The base was often cast iron or heavy steel to support the sign under wind loads. You can often find a curb sign base on ebay marked with various brands and sometimes generic ones too, or you can contact someone like Ron Scobie, as I believe he still sells generic models.

25 years collecting and finally found an embossed 66 base at IG last year. Had to pay for it but it looks great.
