Hey, I'm dismantling a Gilbarco 96C (I think). Anyway, I've hit a roadblock with removing the reset handle. It looks like the pin is pressed in, but wanted to verify before I start tapping on it. Is there a particular direction or does it come out in either direction? Any help or advise is greatly appreciated. The pictures show the pin I'm trying to remove. Thanks

Just tap it out. It is a slightly tapered pin. If you look closely at it you will note that one side is smaller and tap the smaller end.

Dave, Thanks, I will see if my eyes are good enough to see which end is smaller :-)

Dave, it worked like a charm. Not sure if the neighbors appreciated the tapping noise at this time of night, but it is out. Thank you

OK guys. I need more advice. I completely dismantled the Gilbarco 96C, had it sand blasted and is in epoxy prime. So after a little body work, I will be ready to paint. What color was the inside of these pumps? Did it depend on the brand? I know it really doesn't matter since the innards will be hidden, but would like to stay fairly original. Will probably go with "Esso" since my understanding is that most of them were made for that company. I appreciate any advice. Thanks

Grey and red oxide primer is what I find on most pump frames. I usually strip the frame down completely to all individual pieces. I then have the pieces powder coated (usually flat back) and then reassemble with new hardware (bolts, washers and nuts).

Dave, thanks again for coming to my rescue. I would have thought white, but the primer or the flat black makes sense.
