Could't find anything about this can online.
It was manufactured by the Sinclair Refinery in NY.
Does this mean it's a sinclair can, or is it considered a production of Uncle Sam?
Any thoughts on the history?
1lb of grease seems scant for an aircraft.
Unless it's a small plane.....
Sorry for the sideways pics. Ive learned better

Now Jack Sim will tell you not to assume because it's military that it's always WW2.....don't forget the Korea era. I would say the date right there on the can is correct, 7/53.......
If in my collection, I would say it's a Sinclair can as they produced the product and filled the can. Mobil did the same, as did Standard, probably others, all in the same standard issue green and white color scheme.

Notice the can is green. This can was destined to the Military, they didn't want glass and green was camouflage. There is possibly a date on the can, 7/53, this was the one month before the Korean conflict ended. After the end of WWII and Korea the military sold much of the surplus items to people that opened "SURPLUS STORES." This can was possibly purchased at one of them after the Korean conflict.

What the others said, its a Sinclair can. I have a quart oil can that is similar. Don't have a grease can like that. More interest probably to a Sinclair collector than a general can collector due to the plain look to it.

The can is "plain" ugly, imho. Thanks for the info
