my grandfather was Clyde L. Herring who owned Herring Motor Company in Des Moines [and Atlantic] Iowa = I have more information about him but my main hope is to find out about some old auto-cans of the Hermoline variety. I have a few and while our daughter wants me to save some for her. I am not sure of their value or even if there is an interest, so thought I would post here...plus if anyone has any information about my grandfather or the company, I'm all ears!!!

Welcome to Oldgas.com

To get a useful value opinion for old oil cans, you need to post pictures of the can in our "Petroliana Value Questions" section.

Please read your "Welcome" email to get info on posting photos.

Items are not allowed to be offered for sale in that section.

Victoria,

Welcome to the forum. Post your question about your grandfather's company in the "General Petroliana Discussion" forum and maybe some one can help you with your research.

As far as the can values go, post that question in the "Petroliana Value Question" forum and you will probably get an answer. Try to post a picture for the best response.

Welcome aboard,
Steve
