I pushed myself to paint this, as I was going in for a medical procedure and wasn't sure this would be my last painting so I wanted it to be a good one. It's a big one at 3 by 4 feet and I finished it the day of the test. The test results were not as bad as was feared, but my arm was messed up...finally after a month of healing, I think I will be painting again...woo hoo! This was done right after the pump painting... http://www.oldgas.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=654558#Post654558

Nicole you have a true god given talent. I can't draw a stick man. Glad your healing is going well.

An excellent picture, Nicole! I think you may have been "holding out"... I will say though; that if in the background had been a Flying A Service Gas Station (something from the late 1950s - early 1960s design era); I would think that your painting would be perfect!!!!

Thanks you all...I am proud of the pump too! And special thanks to Bob, who was my booster for the medical tests...
And Bob, I thought long and hard about that background (nowhere near what the model and car was set up at). I wanted to make the background as uniform and boring as I could. Even though the model is wearing period clothing, including the gloves, the bag and those ugly cat eye sunglasses (I never liked that style), the painting is all about the car.

Nice painting Nicole. I thought it might have been a self portrait. A Rembrandt of sorts in the Corvette model look. Clearly your eyes and arm are in good form.
