I would like to see how you all have found a way to use your 'lubester'!
My very first petrol anything was a lubester! Boy was I excited to bring it home. Then, looking in on old gas and thinking about it. My question was what do you do with a lubester? I turned mine very quickly, and not so nicely, LOL,, into a bolt bin.
Let me see what your ideas have been.

This one sent to me to post. THANKS!

They make a killer display case.
Like the bolt bin idea. My space is limited so any way I can double the use of an item its a good thing. From one side its a clean lubester beside a pump and from the other a display case for stuff I don't want to walk off. Upload mine if you can.
Thanks,
A. Ogle

NICE Example! Who's next?

No pic for you but use your imagination here. Have some fun with lubester. Bolt a pvc flange down inside to bottom directly under upper hole opening. Then silicone a piece of 4" pvc pipe into it that's long enough to come up to within about 2 inches of lid. Find some cushion springs from old sofa, bed, or whatever. Tie them together as one spring. Put them down into pvc tube with top of springs about 2" from lid. Now put some fuzzy animal looking toy on top of spring & jam lid down. Insert spring pin or small bolt to hold lid closed. Have friends take a look at what's in the tank! My favorite toy was a Tasmanian devil slipper, but I guess you could use a real live road kill temporarilly but don't forget that it's in there!! Enjoy.

HERE IS MY ONE AND ONLY. PAID A BIT MORE THAN THE AVERAGE LUBESTER PROBABLY DUE TO THE INVADER BRAND. THIS ONE SERVED IT'S LIFE AS AN ATF/DEXRON DISPENSER.

I DID ADD THE RED STRIPE BETWEEN THE BLACK AND YELLOW AS WELL AS THE SIDE DECALS. THEY WERE HOMEMADE FROM A PICTURE TAKEN OF THE ORIGINAL ON THE FRONT PANEL.

I ALSO ADDED RUBBER WHEELS FROM AN OLD CHAIR ON THE BASE SO IT'S EASY TO MOTIVATE WHEN I NEED TO.

Couple old lubesters from dads and my brothers collections.
The double was redone to be close to original.

The single in the center is still as found.

The Racecar one is a take off from a design on an old flat one gallon Sinclair oil can. Once I retire from the AF and stop moving around as much I would like to get one painted up the same way.

Wes, I really like the idea of cutting the side out of the lubester and putting in shelves. I need a safer place for my oil cans rather than just out on open shelves. I could use lexan or polycarb for the door so it can take a mild accidental hit from my 6 year old and not break the glass. Thanks for sharing the pics!

This is my lubester. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My lubester is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my lubester is useless. Without my lubester, I am useless. I must paint my lubester true. I must paint straighter than my fellow old gasser, who is trying to out paint me. I must paint mine before he paints his. I will. My lubester and myself are defenders of my collection, we are the masters of our collection. So be it, until the collection is complete. Amen.

Now back to trying to learn how to download pics and thanks "Gunny" for a little paraphrasing!
