Hey guys, what happened to pump of the month? I remember when I first started coming here there were POM's. I like seeing your globes, cans and trinkets but nothing beats GAS PUMPS! (Hubba... step away from the cans!)
Lets make this month an easy one, lots of posts!
Lets make it CLOCKFACES! Any make or model, all clockfaces! Restored and Unrestored! I'll post my meger collection when I get home.

I remember the good old days when gold was worth more than rust!

Now we are Talking! This is something I can sink my teeth into. Yes, its true, everything I have is For Sale, but only so I can afford to buy more clockface pumps, because that is What I Collect. Someday I will fill in the spaces between them with globes and signs.

Bennett 150, I traded a SSE Visible for this one, my first Clockface.

Wayne 800, this one was less than a mile from my house, it took about 5 years to buy, but its a keeper!

Bowser 300R This one came from Swift Current Saskatchewan. I had two of these, just sold one, cause who needs two?

This pair of 730's came from an Estate just North of Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania, there were also 10 or 12 15" PEPCO Globes, I didn't have the money to buy them all , only $200ea, but they were in terrible condition, the paint was flaking off every lens except the one pair I did buy. Anyway, the Wayne 866's also came with this package, it was a great Road Trip!

This is one of the nicest 850's I'd ever seen, I was very happy to get it as I'd wanted one forever and was patient for the right one to come along rust free, I picked it up on a roadside turnout in Kennewick Washington. (Via Frederick Maryland, and yes you may know who I'm talking about, but he is no friend of mine)

Now, this is a pump, the Greatest pump there is, in my book anyway, the Canadian Ecometer. I have wanted one of these forever, I've had 3 slip through my fingers the last few years, I finally sank my teeth into this one last month, its on a truck right on its way to its new home in BC, all the way from Quebec.

Gasmelincelr sent in these images: "Before and after pictures of my G&B 106. I located and restored this pump myself. It was a lot of work."

It doesn't get any better than this. Finding a pump like that in the wild and restoring it yourself. A pump to be proud of.

Morning everyone.

Here are some shots of Chris's Clockfaces.

First the BA pump . . .

Next the Shell pump . . .

And lastly, the two he has yet to paint . . .

I'm sure that as soon as Chris logs on, he will fill you in on the history and future of these pumps.

Later . . .

Here are a couple more pics from Elvis. Where I live we call these Orchard pumps, because Fruit growing is the major Farm activity, what do you call them where you are from? Like the 4 ad glass Bennetts, on the Prairies they are Grain Elevator pumps, and on the Coast they are Lighthouse Pumps.

Thanks for posting those Lance. Down here we just call these beauties... RARE! ha ha ha. I figured if no one else was going to post their clockfaces I would have to show my whole collection.
I might part with one of these, or maybe weld them together into a double display... NOT!
MORE CLOCKFACES GUYS! Lets see 'em!

Now here is a pump I'll bet no one has ever seen! I talked to a friend in Boston about this beauty, it is made by Moore & Kling and dispenses 3 grades of gasoline. From what I gather, they were either made exclusively for Jenney, or used extensively by them. The castings are bronze and the sheet metal is all copper, can you imagine finding one of these in a barn all oxidized and looking like a million bucks, yikes that would be a great day! Now, if you have one and want to sell it, I'LL TAKE IT!

Good Luck on the Hunt!

Good Morning!
I'm sending a couple pics of a TOKHEIM 850 that I restored. It's my favorite because it has been in the family since 1948. My folks, Margaret Jean and Richard used this pump on the family farm. They are in their 80's but still on the farm.
Also pictured is my dog, BOWSER.
Jim will post these pics when he has time.
Thanks everyone for sending in their pics.

Thanks, Jerry for the kind words. You know, I think they were about as proud of the new paint job as I was. They ran the counter up 225,000 gallons and will celebrate their 62nd wedding anniversary next month.

Can we consider this a clockface? My National "Duplex"
Elvis, the guys have seen most all of my pumps several times, but I'll post a few again if you wish.

Bowser #410 "Xacto Sentry"

Wayne 866 (Wayne 60 Clockface)Porcelain doors.

G/B#66,G/B#105,Tokheim#950(square),Tokheim#850(round)Bowser#310 (Xacto Sentry)

Here is one just for kicks. It's an ashtray given away by the "Hayes" Co. The advertising is for the "Major Bowes" Radio show that Hayes sponsored. Anyone remember "Major Bowes"? The pump appears to be a Bennett#77, except the sight glass over the face is not correct. Any ideas why Hayes would give out a Bennett pump for display?

YO Lance,
I think the 1st picture is a pair of 132's.
150's have a price window above the face.

Thanks dodogas, Jerry and rex for the kind words about my folks. They used to say here in Nebraska that marriages tend to last longer here 'cause we need to hold on to each other because of all the wind we get. You're right many don't seem to work very long nowadays.
Yes, both the neighbor's pet mule deer and Bowser, a sharpei-blue heeler mix, are real. All the neighbors were busy calling around to check the whereabouts of the deer the last few days before deer season. He is only a yearling and has lots to learn. My son and I thought we could put a orange vest on him. No such luck. The owners brought their dog over and the deer followed the dog home 3 miles away to spend this week safely in their calving barn.
As for the TOKHEIM 850. Dad gave $50 for it in 1948 used from a TEXACO bulk delivery company with the idea of selling him lots of gas for the farm. He had it connected to 2 tanks ETHYL and BRONZE. When we wanted to switch over we would have to take the lower skin loose to turn the valves. It's a wonder they didn't get taken off and "gone with the wind". It came complete with a milk glass TEXACO globe. Sorry to say we get hail/wind occasionally and unfortunately, all that is left is a 2"X 3" piece from the very top of the globe that I found when I took off the top to restore the pump. I was old enough to remember Dad contemplating replacing the globe. I think he did once but the hail got it too.
Dad later switched from TEXACO to CO-OP and still is a faithfull customer buying everything from groceries, tires, fuel, battries etc.
Thanks for all the pics, guys. I hope more get posted. Nov. has 12 more days. There's just something about a clockface that everybody likes.

Just courious Dick. The pump I posted on page
1 is a service station equip.pump.Same as a
Bennett. The tag on mine reads DM-150E.
This pump has no price tag hole above the
face.Is the tag wrong?

Hey, WE all make mistakes.
The early 150's have a price box above the face. The 150DM's don't and the 132's don't.

Untill Jack's book came out, I always thought that the 132's were earlier than the 150's.

Another question about my S.S.E.150.
My pump has a hole in the bottom sheet
metal front (seen in pic.) and another in
side of bottem sheet metal. What are these for?

Probably for a hand crank [it's been awhile since I gutted a 150]. IF for any reason you lost your electric power, you could insert the hand crank to dispence gasoline. The one in the side might have been to prime the pump.

American 550 clockface one of very few known. I've had it for about 4 months.

Ah the little yellow Wayne!! I think this is one of the fancier yard type non calculators.
When i first tried to buy this it was in a restaurant, then it ended up for sale at a house down the road from there. A friend of mine picked it up, then I later bought it from him. It has since found a new home 3 blocks from me so I get to see it a lot.
So here is the Question, the new owner wanted to strip and paint it and probably put a mini-globe on it. He wanted to go Polly. I told him it looks cool just the way it is and you could never find one with the patina again. He wanted it repainted to put in his house , it is at his shop now.
So what do you guys think;
Paint It or Leave Original?????
