OKAY! THANKS DWAINE, BOB FOR YOUR EFFORTS IN MY SHOWING OF MY HOMEMADE TEXACO PUMP. KEEP IN MIND THAT IT'S RIGHT "OUTTA MY HEAD" AND NOT STYLED AFTER ANY PARTICULAR PUMP BUT HAS HINTS OF A BENNETT AND/OR TOKHEIM STYLE.
IT STAND ABOUT 28" TALL AND WAS MADE FROM HARDBOARD, PVC, AND ASSORTED OTHER HELPERS FROM HOME DEPOT AND A LOCAL CRAFT SHOP. THE DECALS ALL MADE WITH THE PHOTOSHOP PROGRAM ON MY COMPUTER THEN LAMINATED INCLUDE THE GLOBE, PLATES, AND
FACES. WAS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE THE GLOBE A LITE UP, BUT GOT BOGGLED DOWN IN THE BRAIN ON HOW TO ASSEMBLE THE GLOBE SO THAT BURNED OUT BULBS COULD BE CHANGED. THE ARTWORK IS ACTUALLY GLUED TO THE PVC WHICH MAKES THE GLOBE BODY. ANYWAY,

AmeriCan Garage, you should post a measurement for how tall the Texaco pump is, the pic you sent me it looks like close to 2 feet high! From the pics on here I thought it was 8 or 12 inches high.
How long did it take to make it??
Maybe we should have a contest, we pick a pump, then whoever wants to join in builds one and submits pics. Maybe we could share parts (for nominal cost), like someone makes a few metal bits, someone face and globe labels.. could be fun. Lets throw it out there and kick it around or kick it out!!

Craaaaaazy Man!!!! Sooooo Good!!! Okay - A "little" info on my "small" pumps. If they resemble any real pump(s) it's by coincidence. Most of them have multiple personalities (like me...LOL), they are about 9" tall, made of 2x3" stock and shaped with balsa wood (i.e. doors, sides, and a top on the Tydol). The other
two had the 2x3 top rounded off. The globes were cut with a hole saw. All signs, ad glass, globes and faces are again computer generated. The toughest part was making that tiny nozzle. Balsa was too flimsy. So I started cutting and shaping them out of bar aluminum w/my dremel. This is 3 of 4 that I tinkered with.
I started one and when about half way through, I started a second one and so on. Not pictured is a Castrol which I gave to my brother as he uses their products
mostly. They took about 2-3 days each to make
as the poly-paint takes about 12+ hours to dry and give the best results. I am thinking about making some "rough" looking unrestored examples that resemble the resin models that are floating around on the market recently.
Hope this answers most of the questions
about these mini-pumps. If not...jump right in! Ask away!

dodogas! The TEXACO PUMP is about 28" tall. It took about 2-3 weeks of casual
gluing, painting, sawing, filing, cutting, head scratching and cursing. But it was all worth the effort. I believe I mentioned the height in my original posting...??? Yes!!! =-)

I did this about 13-15 yrs ago. I put 2 clocks motors in behind the 20 gal faces [1 for standard time, other for daylight time]. I have since repainted it to UNION OIL CO.

Then loaned it to the California Oil Museum in town.
