This weekend I went to alittle town to visit a man who called me about a Hayes 15 Gallon visible pump he had. He is 85 and has cancer and knows he is not long for this world. Unfortunatly he could not find the bottom plate to the pump and the bottom of the cylinder had broken often evenly about a quart below the 15 gallon mark. But what treasures he had. 1930 Model A roadster 2 Roadster bodies 1947 Hudon Pickup rust free 1937 Plymouth 1932 Chevy Coupe 1929 Model A pickup 1902 Olds curve dash 1933 Ford 2 door sedan 1926 Dodge pickup Stacks of model A fenders & wheels A dozen porcelain signs over 1000 old toys wooden windmills windmill weights old iron fencing and gates lightening rods railroad lanterns gas globes etc., etc. On the way home I stopped off at another lead and bought these three pumps. One of his globes. What a dream! I wish I could share his name with you but his health is extremely frail and the family said they did not want him to be bothered and will probably have an auction to sell everything.

Tim, The collector in me wants to see the accumulation the elderly man has put together. Especially after seeing the Standard of Ohio one piece etched Red Crown globe!............but the right thing to do is respect the family's wishes and let the man pass in peace. Bob
Wanted: Gas pump globes:Sinclair & affiliates, IL companies. Ripple bodies. Anything Sinclair, Stoll, Pierce, 4 Bros. http://www.lastgas15.com/

TOM - WHAT A NEAT-O STORY! GREAT FOR YOU AND CERTAINLY A WONDERFUL VISUAL MEMORY TO SAY THE LEAST. I GOT MY ERIE 748 FROM A GUY WHO HAD TONS OF OLD STUFF INCLUDING QUITE A LARGE RESTORED EARLY 1900'S COLLECTION OF OLD FORD CARS AND TRUCKS. WHAT DID HE DO THAT'S ALMOST AS BAD AS CANCER? HE (ABOUT 70) MARRIED A YOUNGER WOMAN AND SHE TOOK HIM TO THE CLEANERS! I'VE ONLY SEEN THE VEHICLES BUT HE SPEAKS OF HAVING TONS OF STUFF WITHIN HIS MANY BARNS. YEARS AGO HE HAD SEVERAL OLD PUMPS ON HIS PROPERTY WHICH I GUESS ENDED UP AT THE LOCAL SWAP SHOP WHERE I BOUGHT THE ERIE. HE ALSO HAS A FORD MODEL "F" (?) WHICH WAS ALSO CALLED THE DOCTOR'S CAR. ONE OF ONLY 11 KNOWN TO EXIST. HE TOOK THIS CAR ON A TRAILER TO FORD'S 100TH ANNIVERSARY. LONG LIVE THE MAN THIS SIDE OF A BRUTAL AND UGLY DIVORCE! LARRY @ THE AMERICAN GARAGE

Tim One thing you have to remember this mans collection will go on to give enjoyment to a lot of people, You got to talk to this man and hear some of his storys , some times I wounder what the story is on a lot of the stuff I've picked up, How many people pumped from it ,how many romances were started and ended in front of the pumps, how deep did the snow drift up on them ,Its nice to be able to talk to someone with the history and the background on the treasures you have found . God Bless Him.

And I thought I was the only one that sits in the garage and looks at his pumps and wonders what happened around them.Surely when I look at one thats about seventy years old, there must be countless stories. ---JERRY
