I am being offered this Erie model 743. One ad glass is broken and the chrome bits are rough and flaking. Plenty of rust/patina but it appears solid.

Is it worth $800?

Many thanks!

Brent

That seems just a little high for a short electric with that much rust. Make sure there is no rust through at the bottom, since it seems like the bottom has been in (or near) mud for a while. Another spot it looks like it may be rusted through is behind the tetraethyl plate (common spot for rust through).
