Producing Petrol Pumps - Row of Europa Lube dispensers ready to leave the factory. A worker adds another dispenser to the row.
Gordon Burt; photographer; circa 1940; Wellington, Gordon H. Burt Ltd; photography studio.

Europa was a New Zealand-owned oil company (since 1933?) that was operated by the Todd family in New Zealand, in competition with overseas firms such as Texaco (now Caltex in NZ), Plume (now Mobil), Shell (now Z Energy) and Atlantic (now Mobil).

Did they make pumps too?? Would love to see them, if they do.

Do you own any pumps or signs from New Zealand or Australia? Would love to see those pics too.

I agree with Paul, the art-deco sides are very cool. Thanks for posting.

just a photo i copied and posted- cool photo though.. My boss worked as a sales rep for Mobil Oil, then ran a garage then owned a tyre shop/ workshop for years. He rebuilt vintage /veteran cars as a hobby and had a petrol pump collection which was on loan to the local early settlers museum- although at one stage they did an upgrade and some one was about to ditch all the automotive/petrol pump display until he rang them and reminded them they didnt actually own it at the time.Do remember him owning a 1906 and 1912 Cadillac at one time plus various english vehicles- .Last car he rebuilt was a 1924 De La.ge- still in the family.
nly decent sign i have sold was a double sided .sign 42 inch Porcelain Texaco ..genuine not copy-will post photos was interesting story to it.
