Thank you, everyone, for the kind comments. I kinda wish I had the electric motor and a few bits of linkage that I was missing, but of course that would have meant more stuff to cleanup! At least one book exists that claims the correct colors for a Phillips/Bowser are orange and black. I went to the Phillips museum in Bartlesville, OK and viewed pictures on the wall and an actual Bowser 585 in orange/maroon. Their curator provided me with the correct paint codes. The interior colors are Rustoleum colors that closets match the colors of the parts I disassembled.
