Here's the real deal by the way. Cardboard I believe.
If you study Donald's clothes, accent stripes and such you can see major differences.

There is going to come a point in time when no one will know what is fake or not. Even the fake stuff will be old. That sucks.

I wonder how much of what we're buying today that says it's 30's-40's was actually made in the 60's-70's?

Steve its everywhere including north of the border where a completely phoney sign sold for 750 plus taxes, etc.
www.icollector.com/item.aspx?i=34040688

In this case I notified the host site owner that it was not real. His response was to cop a plea of " it's not my responsibility to tell people it's real or not"...so he didnt and the auction proceeded without clarification.

And that is the future of this porcelain and tin hobby. 10 years from now only a few will know the difference, most at some point will not care. They will just check out of this and just buy for decoration.

I will see your $630 and raise you $950.

I personally inspected this fake sign. In the realm of fake stuff, this one is rather well made other than all of the fine details are wrong. It's very hard to tell in photos but when you have it in your hands, you can clearly see that this is another large sign being faked.

Here is the fun thing about this particular sign, it is now being sold under yet another Ebay name by someone in TN. I suspect that a major fake sign peddler in that area runs about half dozen, maybe more, Ebay accounts to ensure that his scam keeps rolling in the event he runs into trouble.

Austensctt, Click on the Forum Help tab in the toolbar. Then click on the How Do I Add An Image Q&A for assistance.

Regards, Jim
