Tico, I thought the same thing when I first bought it but there are some differences in the two. I happen to have a G&B 176 pictured next to the Birmingham. The skins on the Birmingham are about 4 inches taller. Also the Birmingham has heavy steel bands up the sides that the G&B does not feature. The tapered or funneled neck on the Birmingham is more subtle than the G&B. Hope this helps! Thanks, Tony

That is great information Jack. Very interesting that they advertise the 6 strokes to fill the 5 gallon bowl. The crank on mine is actually free and moves around 360 degrees. Makes a heck of a squeaky racket but I'm working on that. The Birmingham is the only one of my visible pumps that the "hand crank" is not locked up. I would really like to buy one of the original ads for the Birmingham pump if you or anyone else has one for sale. Even a reproduction one would be nice. Thanks again! Tony

I haven't seen your email yet Jack. Should I have received it by now?
