I talked to Darin and he said he had also seen the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Cleveland Indians.

Randy, Your banks look more like the old Boston/Milwaukee Braves logo than the old Cleveland Indians logo to me. The Braves changed their logo within a few years of arriving in Milwaukee in 1953.

I guess it could be either one of those teams, I personally am not 100% sure either way.
I have never seen any literature announcing this promotion, which would be very helpful in nailing down the specifics of it. There seem to be many Tigers and Reds banks available, which made me think it was a more regional promotion than country-wide. Possibly the ones with Pegasus on both sides were made as more generic giveaways.

Darin, To be honest the logo on the Mobil banks is not an exact match for either any Cleveland Indian or Boston/Milwaukee Brave logo. It just looks a little closer to the Braves logo than the Indians logo. It is possible they made a generic "Indian Head" that could be used in both markets. The first logo below is the Braves 1945 - 1952, the second is the Indians 1946 - 1947.

I agree Jim....I didn't think they really looked like either logo when you get down to it!
I also agree that maybe they were "generic" Indians to be distributed in either market.

those pennants are great! it's too bad we can't find any literature on it. my vote would be Boston because of the tilt of the head.
