How can you tell if that’s a real or fantasy?

I’m sure someone else can say this better than I can but fantasy is a term used for an item that never existed. This particular design was used for a Douglas pump plate so it would never be considered a fantasy piece even if it was a repro, which it’s not. So, you might then want to ask how you can tell if it’s real or a reproduction. Best advice I’ve got is comparing it to a known original plate, which you can do by searching through past posts in this site. Hope that helps, Vintage.

Awesome piece, Anthony, I’d scoop it up in a heartbeat if I wasn’t broke 😁
