I can't find other examples of these anywhere. Are they just fantasy or did they actually exist and have a purpose?

All Phillips 66 pump plates are fantasy - NEVER made one


I collect Phillips 66 and globes pumps & signs esp Iowa co.

Mobiloil I would consider a fantasy piece.

The only original MobilOIL porcelain "pump plate" is a 12" shield and is only dated IR46, as far as I know. I have never seen an original dated any other year. ALL of the "IR40" Mobiloil shields you see on Ebay are reproductions. I have the "IR40" Mobiloil shield listed in the unmarked reproduction and fantasy sign album section here on OG.
