Hello, my father is selling a Western Chief oil can on e-bay, which he picked in an old barn in northern Michigan. We are amazed at the bids so far, over $2500. We cannot find any information about this brand anywhere. We are just looking to learn more information about it, ie where it was made, what year, etc. I have included a picture but you can also search for it on e-bay.
Thanks
Scott

Probably just a small insignificant company, might not be a whole lot out there about them. According to the Facebook discussion on your can, there is a quart version of the same colors as yours and another 2 gallon that is red instead of orange and has a different spout. One of our members, Dennis, has the quart. 2 gallon cans have gone crazy the last year two for whatever reason. Stealing the pics from the discussion, check them out:

Looking for Michelin items + NJ oil company related items (Mohawk, Guardian, Whiz, etc) + animal-related petroliana + Gargoyle/Shell/Sinclair items

I would say a lot has to do with the graphics.

Be sure to pack this well.
