I've been in love with Wayne 60s since I first saw one, when I first started doing this back in early 2012, and swore to myself, that the first one I came across, that was inexpensive enough that I could keep, I was going to make it mine.
FINALLY I have my 60 AND it's a narrow body!!!
Here's the story;
Dorothy & I went on our first 'pick' together, in over 2 years, on 11-11 and we had a BLAST!!
We had to go back because we took her truck on the first time up there and needed to bring my trailer back to get all the RAT-ROD body parts.
I let the guy know that I was interested in gas pumps, whole or parts, and when we got back there, he let me know he had found one for me and was gonna go get it for me and bring it back to where we were. I asked if I could go with him just in-case it had parts scattered and, thankfully, he agreed and the first pic is of where and how I first saw it, laying in the middle of nowhere for decades!!
Those 2 pieces were there and he found a door and face plate a couple yards away and I found another door, on another ancient dump site that was a couple hundred yards away from that pile! So 5 pieces is what I was able to get of it.
It's not in too bad of condition (it's very straight and rust free, with mostly just surface rust) and I should be able to get the missing pieces from Ron Scobie (like a new base) or various other places, to complete her.
I was chomping at the bit to start working on her and i got out there, last night, on thanksgiving evening and did a light assembly of her and snapped a couple pics.
Keep diggin deep, the good stuff is still out there!!

Some will say that the fun is in the hunt, but IMO the most of the fun of the hunt is actually in the find. Hang onto that excitement......

Excellent! Good luck on the restoration. I think the Wayne 60 is the very best looking pump ever made.

If you wanted to keep the original Ethyl ad glass, here is my vote for your restoration - Conoco Ethyl. smile

Here is an example of a very well restored Wayne 60 that I found on the internet. The colors aren't exactly authentic Conoco, but the pump looks fantastic. Here is a photo of how an authentic Conoco Ethyl pump would have looked.

PS: in case you actually do restore this in Conoco and want the authentic "Conoco Ethyl" ad glass, Jim Treadway can custom make them for you. He custom made "Conoco Ethyl" ad glass for my Tokheim 36B.
