Found on a friend's farm a 56 gallon Standard Oil barrel. Looks to be galvanized. Without posting pictures can anyone give me a value on it? It looks to be in really good condition? Thanks JP

I paid $225 for a Standard 56 gallon barrel. It has Standard Oil stamped on the face in black. I think that’s a fair price for a rare barrel.

I would have to agree with Chris.
They are often sold at old farm auctions around here and usually bring around $50.
Once in a while they will jump up and bring more but never over $100.

I agree $100 or less. There are/were 2 near me on Craigslist for $75 each, recently.

I cut the top off and hung on the wall and put valves in it. I used the rest for a heavy duty rain barrel.

Wanted: Nebraska advertising items Cushman, Dempster, Archer oil etc.
