There are no grommets on that sign just wear where the screws or attachment to the pump would have been.

It looks like it should have had grommets to keep the fasteners off the porcelain

The back,just as found 40 years ago.

Tankar--were you referring to this sign when you said "junk"? Just wondered as it is an original and no doubt it had grommets originally.

I thought I seen grommets and standard never used them on there pump plates. just bad eye sight.

I did not know the originals did not have grommets,only one that I have had and just assumed they did.

Thank you! The back of mine is the same as yours minus the red paint. The back of mine doesn't have any rack marks (the straight narrow lines you see across the backs of a lot of porceline signs) I was worried that may indicate it is a repro. However, again mine is identical to yours front and back (just a different batch number/IR year and without the red paint on the back).
