Question, how common are Tokheim 39 tall without ad glass. I've only seen one myself and have the opportunity to pick it up. Rare?

I seem to find these more often than not, ad glass or non ad glass and sometimes turn them down. For me they are common.

I guess it depends on your area. I have never seen a tall 39 with no add glass. Richard

My only advice... rare does not necessarily mean valuable. That basic style of pump is pretty common. Demand, plus rarity, plus condition, is what can drive value.

My 2 ¢,
Steve

I once wrote an article on the 39 for the CTO magazine. At the time I determined that there were more than 125,000 Tokheim 39s made, all versions put together. Go to this page of my website (jhsim@petrocollect.com), click on Tokheim, then on any 39 listed. Plenty of pictures shown.

Not sure if this helps but I have had over the years about 50 39 tall and only one did not have ad glass and I still have it.

These are odd pumps. They look like a short 39 with high heels on. They are not rare but are un-common or hard to come by. Value would be less than a two or four ad glass tall in the same condition. I had one I got really cheap and when I decided to sell it five years later it was a hard sell. I made money but it sold a lot less than a tall with ad glass.

Thanks for all the info, I’ll have to decide if I like it enough to get it now.
