If you pay extra you can sell thursday or if you buy so many booths it's included. That's the way it's suppose to be,but I'm sure there are vendors selling on thursday anyway.

Rather than start another thread, hopefully it's okay to post here. Anybody know if there's still rooms left at the Dublin Crowne Plaza? I've procrastinated again and haven't been able to get up with the Check the Oil folks. I thought maybe they reserved a block of rooms and still might have one left. The front desk and website say No Vacancy.

I have been trying also to get a hold of them also for the last two days. I called the hotel and they are booked.

This is not a way to run a show...

Does anybody know what is going on?

Check The Oil folks are back, I received a call yesterday and booked my room for the Columbus show. They said they were in Alabama for a graduation. Sounds like they still have some rooms left.

This is really bad this year. We are down to less then two weeks and still have no confirmation that we have rooms etc. Kind of rediculous when Iowa gets them out at least 30 days early.
I've sent an email asking them to confirm my reservation and, of course, no reply

I talked with Jerry's daughter-in-law last week and it sounds like she just got to Ohio and there has been no one at home. She said they hadn't even heard from the hotel yet,so I guess if we don't get a room there Lynda and I will look elsewhere.I beleive will be in the host hotel as we have done this show for a long time

I called the Crowne Plaza myself for my confirmation and they told me I had two rooms reserved,,, only wanted one, so they changed it,,,very poor service on CTO's part,, no wonder the show is declining,,,best to call the hotel yourself,, 1-614-764-2200

hi, i called jerry and kathy and got answer machine and left a message. I looked thru my previous paper work and found number for hotel and called. i do have a reservation. so hopefully the show is on.if not we can make our on show. so this year when we set up before 11am on thursday and they come out and tell us not to, maybe we all can stress our feelings on how the show is handled and the hotel doesn't care if we set up early or not. see you all there

Hi Guys, does anyone know of someone heading to the show from the Massachusetts area (already checked with Leo)...Lookin' to have someone ride out with me and share expenses$$$$$...Also looking for a room to split with someone. I did the show last year but with all this confusion pre-show and lack of response from promoters I don't know if its worth my expense to come out.

Thanks

Hi Guys- lets not be too critical here- Putting on a show of this size is not the easiest thing- It is one of the best shows in the hobby and has always come off with minimum of problems in the past- dont hold off coming because of a little confusion- see you there- thanks Don

I have to drive 15 hours to get there so I would like to know there is a show and a room at the end of the drive.
They really should be more professional, by now they should have the experience.
Just my 2 cents

This is a GREAT show guys, we don't have anything in Canada to come even close to this... It does seem a very simple task to let people know they have a reservation. Either the host hotel or the show organizer has definately negleted their duty here. I do think this is the first time in the 15 years that I've been attending it that this has happened.. So maybe Don is right, lets give em a break,,,I've been to Iowa Gas a few years ago and I think the Columbus Show is every bit as good of a show as it.
( maybe better?)
Wes...

I called the hotel and I DON'T HAVE A RESERVATION. I have my cancelled check from CTO. I called their office and of course got nothing but a voice mail. Does anyone have any ideas how I can reach these people. This is like a nightmare and someone else should take over the show.

I think we all mean well and so do the promoters and I'm sure there is a reason for the problems this year.It may be justified and it may not be,but no matter what it might be Columbus Gas is the promoter and if they don't have enough help or what the case may be it would only be fitting to act accordingly and post a paragraph here on Old Gas to let people know what is going on.They do advertise there show here and they do have there own website where nothing has been posted. It doesn't take that long to post a update for people and be profesional about it.

...geez...guys, this is a great show and beats the h@ll out of driving 24 hours from NC to Iowa (nothing against Iowa Gas, it's just TOO FAR from North Cackylacky)...there are plenty of hotel rooms near the show...you can get a pretty sweet room at the Extended Stay America near the Crowne Plaza where the show's being held, it's almost walking distance...

Extended StayAmerica Columbus - Dublin
450 Metro Pl. N.
Dublin, OH 43017
Telephone: (614) 760-0053
Fax: (614) 760-9363
dub@extendedstay.com

...people who've been there know what I'm talking about...I've stayed there at least three times over the years when I couldn't get a 'show room', and I strongly recommend them...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Here's what I finally found out. Yes I do have a room, now, but no they had made a mistake and did not reserve a room for me until I got worried. What a lot of you are missing is that it dosen't matter that there are other hotels nearby, it's that no one was notified. The confirmations were not mailed until YESTERDAY. Can you believe that. Anyway, see you all there

I talked with the promoters yesterday and I'm giving everybody a heads up.Maybe the promoters are also, but the hotel took back 25 rooms that were reserved for us and she has it set up for some in a next door motel. You may want to call the hotel to make sure if you will have a room there.Maybe some don't care, but just a heads up

I received a call last night from the Hotel and they told me THEY over booked it. I'm staying at the Hilton Garden Inn next door. I have no problem with since I'm not selling room to room. Just shopping!

The thing is why do the Gas Show people have to move? That is not right. The people that got over booked should be moving. But I guess it is all about money. Gas Show..$80.00 room verses $150.00 room for the people off the street since it is the start of the weekend.
