cleaning up my 620 to put cylinder in but need little help. Does the cylinder only use 1 metal cap ring on top of glass or is there suppose to be one on bottom too? Also the clamp looking thing on bottom how does it work to stay in place, it has 3 screws with square nuts on them and 1 screw with nut where end should go together but must be broke off as they're not connected am I missing parts is it suppose to bracket to bowl base somehow.
thanks for now Laroy

There is only one on top of the cylinder. Both sides that touch the glass need cork gaskets

I'm going to start working on 2 this week and both original cylinders are intact with a metal ring attached on one end of each. I've never worked on these so it will be a learning experience as I'm going along.
I'll post updates and pics as I'm going along. Maybe do the same so we can draw off of each others work?
There was a stack of parts that came with them that I also will be figuring out what goes with them and what's missing or extra.

wow Dave you got some nice pumps I'm just trying to get my cylinder put in & the conduit rewired & top lit up not doing full restore yet - just good globe holder- lol
Here's picture of ring i'm try to figure out why it's there. Is it just another way to attach numbers on the bottom? Or does it do something to hold glass in place?

I have the three sets of numbers (missing one #9 looking for it in wanted) with the top bracket screwed to upper glass cylinder ring and they have the tabs that screw to floor (where you can see I heated & finally drilled to remove 2 of 3 broken original screws so i'm guessing this ring must just be extra from earlier style number markers & not used at all to hold inside bottom of glass cylinder

This is what I'm working with.
Here is a link to a previous thread that shows a great picture of the pieces.
I'm missing the light fixture and conduit but it looks relatively easy to fabricate from that pic.

Plastic tabs inside the gallon markers. I had no idea plastic was being used in the late 1920s!
I'm getting closer...

wow your Toke is looking good Dave, also was nice to meet you had to cut it short but was enjoyable. Mine has nothing between the two number parts so plastic number was something new I've learned as mine are gone. Keep up the good work

You have the numbers put together backwards. The cellulose tabs go between the aluminum numbers and the steel bar stock. Polish the aluminum and they’ll look great.

Heh, Heh, Heh, Fooled ya. The tabs are painted green now and in between the aluminum pieces. Top aluminum pieces are painted black.
