A question for our visible pump experts...Is there an easier way to clean the inside of my Wayne 615 glass cylinder than completely disassembling the top. I worry about breaking the rods and bolts. Any thoughts?

I've had a couple pumps , that I've used simple green and water and let it soak for 24 hours and had good results.

How were you able to get the mixture into the cylinder and then drain it?

I pulled the top and removed the jar lid glass to gain access to the inside of the cylinder, then made a valve for where the hose goes so I could keep the mixture in there.

Stephen, you better take into consideration, if the glass cylinder is under any pressure once you loosen the top bolts you stand a chance of the glass cylinder cracking. I have alot of friends who found this out the hard way. One of my friends had removed the glass cylinder and it was sitting on the floor for a week, when he heard it crack. I guess something to do with expansion. I am only telling you this so you will be careful. Take care and I hope it turns out alright for you. Hugh

Concerning Chris’ suggestion..do you think one could set up a garden hose to attach to the exit port of the pump and force water into the cylinder from the faucet then later remove the hose at the faucet to drain? Would love to hear what anyone thinks on this idea.
Thanks,
Steve
